Located in the heart of the ‘bio-fuels belt’ in North Central Iowa, Manly Terminal provides the ethanol industry with the best of all worlds. With a long term, committed contractual relationship with IANR, L.B. Transport, and KAG Ethanol Logistics, Manly Terminal has the flexibility of delivering ethanol from the producers to all possible competitive markets as efficiently and inexpensively as possible. The arrangements will include a long-term contract to provide trucks at low cost, and continuous cycles to and from Manly Terminal. IANR will provide, contractually, long-term arrangements to “wholesale” freight service from Manly Terminal to all possible rail connections. KAG Ethanol Logistics will offer customers the option of a single invoice logistics solution.This will allow the industry to enjoy the low-cost access to a common delivery point for trading and exchange and still have the flexibility to play the most profitable consumption markets on a real time basis. The perceived “handcuffs” attributed to being a captive shipper on one rail line are eliminated. At the same time, the major carriers get the benefit of large unit trains instead of managing a huge number of single car moves.
